Book 4 is titled “On Human Values’ and looks deeply at how we arrive at our values based on our non-provable assumptions and the evidence that we use to arrive at them. After looking at the basic assumptions that people use in developing their values and looking at the types of evidence they might use with those basic assumptions, a number of ethical questions are addressed including: capital punishment, euthanasia, homosexual marriages, contraception, abortion and licensing parents.
